Comic Space!

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 12:13 am

This has to be the coolest website I have seen in a long time. Sort of a “MySpace” for comics fans, (in fact, that’s exactly what it is!), this is a great place for all kinds of comics fans to meet, connect, post your own free profile page, and learn about all sorts of comics stuff. It is for fans and creators alike, and I’m glad to see a healthy amount of gay profiles, as well as Legion of Super-Heroes fan profiles. The address is simple…
www.comicspace.com
When you go there, please visit my profile page, (my member name is KyleComics; you can find it by using the search function). After you create your own profile, feel free to “friend request” me; I’ll be happy to add you, (especially if you happen to mention Kyle’s Bed & Breakfast on your profile page!). Enjoy!

Jeff Olsen

Filed under: Uncategorized - Administrator @ 1:53 am

There have been some questions about where Jeff Olsen is. (For newer readers, Jeff is a recurrent character in Kyle’s B&B; way back in the early days of the strip he appeared as an openly-gay member of Brad’s baseball team, who stayed at the B&B for a few months before being traded off to another team across the country). Since then, he’s returned for several visits, most notably a few winters ago where he revealed to the B&B guys that he is hiv+ . Currently, he’s left the baseball world due to a knee injury, (unrelated to his hiv status, which appears to be under control). His most recent appearance was a couple of episodes last summer, when he attended the B&B’s beach party on Fire Island. He is now back in his home state of South Carolina, attending college. I know a lot of readers would like to see more of Jeff, and I want to let you know that I do plan on bringing him back. There are just several storylines that have to happen first, before I can bring Jeff back into the picture. It’s quite interesting juggling these characters’ storylines in the comic strip; aside from making sure the 5 lead characters all get a chance in the spotlight, there are now a number of popular supporting characters that require time, too. And of course, there’s always a new visitor to the B&B every now & then, which only adds to the mix! But I just wanted to say….I hear you, I like Jeff a lot, too, and I do plan on bringing him back as soon as I can. In the meantime, rest assured….he’s doing well in South Carolina, attending University of South Carolina, (whose athletic team, as you may know, happens to be the Game Cocks, or as they are better known, the ‘Cocks. No comment here!). In any case, I really appreciate the interest in Jeff, and hang in there. Our red-haired dixie-hunk will be back soon enough!
