Northport Sunflowers!

Well, I suppose we are at the peak of the “sunflower season” here in Northport, that unofficial 5th season of the year that occurs somewhere between mid-to-late August and the beginnning of Fall in late September. The weather’s lovely, not too hot and cool overnights. And of course, sunflowers in gorgeous blossom all over the place! Above and below are several pics I took of some sunflowers today right here in Northport. I’m not really one to go crazy over flowers or gardening or all of that stuff, (despite the stereotype of gay men being potential florists, or whatever. Where’d that come from?). But if there’s one flower that really captures my attention, it’s these magnificent glowing sunflowers. I’m sure part of this is also the fact that the sunflower season heralds the coming of Fall, my favorite season of the year. I suppose if I ever get married, (that is, if the nation ever comes to its senses and gay marriage becomes legal…and , if I meet a man that doesn’t scare the hell out of me to think of spending the rest of my life with, …and he feels likewise, [lotta’ “ifs” there])…then I suppose I shall have to have sunflowers at my wedding. In the meantime, here’s a few more for you to enjoy, straight outta’ Northport!
