Lambda Literary Award Ceremony approaching…as well as Book Expo!!!
Big couple of days coming up in early June. On Thursday, June 2nd, is the Lambda Literary Awards ceremony in New York City, for which the Kyle’s B&B book is nominated as one of the 5 finalists for “Best Humor Book”. Since the finalists were announced several months ago, been getting some really nice attention for the book, a lot of nice e-mails and congratulatory comments. I have to say, and this sounds so cliche, but… it really is an honor just to be nominated. To be in the same category as Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris is wildly amazing and cool. So, yes, even if I don’t win, this is a magnificent thing for me, for which I’m very grateful. On Saturday, June 4th, I’m going to be appearing for a book-signing at Book Expo, which is happening at the Javits Center in New York City. This is, basically, the big annual event in the book publishing industry, where all the publishers and many authors converge in one location for a giant enormous weekend long festival of all things literary . It happens in a different city each year, (which, by the way, is also concurrent with where the Lambda Literary Awards ceremony is held). So, lucky for me, this is all happening in New York this year, which makes traveling to it remarkably convenient. All of this going on, and probably my main concern is, “what the hell do I wear?” to these functions. Well, we’ll find out in a few days! I’ll keep ya’ posted.
