Booksigning appearance at the Suffolk Gay Men’s Group in Sayville, Long Island
Well, I thought I wouldn’t be doing any more Long Island book-signing appearances for the first Kyle’s B&B book, which came out last September, since I already did 2 booksignings here on the Island last Fall, as well as a couple in New York City. I certainly don’t want to wear out my welcome, especially on my home turf! But the Suffolk County Gay Men’s Group was really eager to have me come down and talk about the comic strip and sign copies of the book, so I agreed. This is a fun social group for gay men that has been around for years; they meet 2 Fridays a month, in Sayville, and provide a warm, social atmosphere for lots of gay men on Long Island. I used to attend meetings quite regularly several years ago, until I became so busy with the comic strip that I haven’t been able to get back. So, this was a nice way to reconnect with all of the guys in the group, and I’m really glad I went. A large crowd showed up, and I was able to give a nice talk about the book, followed by a pretty boisterous and fun Q & A session! (Also signed & sold a bunch of books; thanks, guys!). To anyone who lives in the Long Island, NY area, I highly recommend this group as a nice way to connect with a whole bunch of gay men in a healthy social setting.
